Kitchen reno started 2-15-09

We started pulling up our floor yesterday which officially begins our kitchen renovation. The floors throughout the condo are engineered hardwood (i.e. 1/4" plywood w/ red oak veneer) that were glued to a concrete sub floor.

It was not an easy job and I'll explain how we removed those later. But first, a few before shots:


The first and second images are what you see when you walk through the front door. We're not really sure what this room was meant to be. When we first saw the condo it was staged as a den, but that doesn't make sense to us. So part of the renovation will be to make better use of the space.

This is our galley kitchen. It is very tight and just doesn't look right considering that the rest of the apartment is pretty big. And it's purple.
